Profile
Mira Aebi draws letters for reading and for shouting. Her typefaces are rational in structure but never cold — built on a grid, finished by hand, tested at every size from a footnote to a building façade.
Practice
Retail families through her own foundry, custom type for institutions, and typographic systems for print, screen and space.
Background
Studied typography in Basel and type design in The Hague. Studio in Zürich-West since 2011, working alone or with small teams.
Method
Every family starts as a text face. Display cuts come later, once the regular weight survives a full book, a timetable and a road sign.
